The Ling family are swiftly becoming a clay shooting force to be reckoned with… or perhaps feared if you happen to come up against them at competition! After the pair narrowly missed out on a medal at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games back in April, both coming fourth in their respective classes, they have returned to the UK in fine form and are making their presence felt.
At the English Open ABT, held at Bywell Shooting Ground on 20 May, the family dominated almost every category.
Ed took the High Gun honours after shooting a mind-blowing 200 straight, three targets ahead of his closest rival Tony Coulstock, while Abbey retained her Ladies title on 189, also three points ahead of runner-up Mary Rowley.
Ed’s younger brother Theo shot a superb 195 to comfortably take the Junior title, while their father Steve just missed out on the Veteran title to Nigel Collis by one clay, narrowly missing a Ling clean sweep. The full results can be found here: bit.ly/2L3NbAH
