Rwanda obsession is mind-boggling
SHAME on Rishi Sunak. To put the United Kingdom’s commitment to human rights in doubt all over an obsession with the Rwanda Bill is mind-boggling.
Time is not on our side to leave the European Court of Human Rights at all.
All it does is give our country, a once respected liberal nation, a bad name just to keep bigots in his own party happy.
Instead of mistreating refugees just so as to keep the right wing of the Conservative Party happy, why not be more welcoming and offer them free training and support to help make them feel at least a little better? When will our Prime Minister ever learn that it is the gangs responsible for human trafficking who are the ones who should be targeted for their irresponsible behaviour in risking so many innocent lives for the love of money?

General Election, I can’t for the life of me understand why people think that a Labour government will be the answer to all our woes.
We’ve had 14 years of so-called government from the Conservatives, which means that anyone under the age of 30 is unlikely to appreciate what life was like under a Labour government.
I would urge those people to talk to their parents and grandparents. I am 76 and first voted in a General Election at the age of 21, and voted Labour. Before I’d reached the age of 30, I was disillusioned with the performance of both parties and always wrote “None of these” across my ballot paper in future elections. I did note, however, that I was always worse off (and so was the country) under all Labour governments.
Whilst I am realistic enough to expect Labour to win the next election by a landslide, I, like a rapidly increasing number of people, am giving my vote to the Reform party. To me they are the party of common sense, especially after reading their manifesto, and I hope they perform well to provide a credible opposition.
