Staines Informer - - NEWS -

YOUNGSTERS at an Englefield Green school have travelled back in time to 8th century Scandinavia to live a day in the life as a Viking.

Pupils at St Jude’s CofE Junior School re-enacted a battle as the Norse sea travellers as part of its Viking Day last week.

Led by the Hobgoblin Theatre Company, the children also created a museum of Nordic art.

Chloe Jones, Year 5 teacher, said: “The children and adults thoroughly enjoyed the performance. It was very funny and educational, and the performers engaged real- ly well with the children.”

George Lee, 10, said: “The artist made a warrior from a ball of clay which was really clever and we had to copy it, which was really good fun.”

Emily West, also 10, said she thought everything went very smoothly and the theatre was great fun.
