A TWO-day fes­ti­val cel­e­brat­ing the cul­ture and beauty of Thai­land has been held in Run­nymede for the first time.

The Thai­land Cul­ture Fes­ti­val at Run­nymede Mead­ows ear­lier this month was or­gan­ised by KaJinUK, show­cas­ing the best of Thai arts and crafts, street food and en­ter­tain­ment. This in­cluded a la­dy­boy com­pe­ti­tion, live mu­sic, a Thai beauty con­test and a Thai mas­sage.

The Mayor of Run­nymede, Coun­cil­lor Alan Alder­son and deputy mayor Cllr Iftikhar Chaudhri at­tended.

Sup­ported by Singha Beer, the event in­cluded a chil­dren’s fash­ion show from event spon­sor JAL. There was also a Thai su­per­mar­ket and cook­ing demon­stra­tions to give vis­i­tors ideas for cre­at­ing their favourite Thai dishes.

KaJinUK is the brain­child of Jin­tana Nacha­ree, with the com­pany name de­rived from a sim­ple Thai greet­ing ‘Ka’ fol­lowed by ‘Jin’.
