A GOOD PHILATELIST NEVER STOPS LEARNING…

-

I have to admit, all the ‘Back to School’ sales in the shops around this time of year used to send a shiver down my spine. We’d just broken up for the summer and were already being encouraged to get a new uniform, pencil case, and notepad!

But this month’s theme isn’t quite as prescriptive. Our special issue is intended to dip in and out of, to give us all a refresher on philatelic terms and quirks of the hobby. Our hobby puts us on a constant learning curve, but we can take it at our own pace and specialise in whatever subject takes our fancy. We’re doing the same over on the allaboutstamps.co.uk website throughout September, so I’m sure there’s something for you to learn!

As part of this ‘Back to School’ themed month on the website,

I’m excited to let you know that we’ll be running two special stamp collecting webinars on 13 and 20 September. The online talks will be presented by Marcus Orsi and Devlan Kruck from the Museum of Philately, and I’ll be there to host, ask questions, and put your questions to the experts. I can’t wait!

I should also mention, the webinars are free to attend, so do come along and get involved. It’s simple to register (just visit https://stamp.cm/ school-webinar) and you don’t need to download Zoom if you’d prefer not to, you can watch via your internet browser. After our previous webinars I spoke to one collector who told me he didn’t attend as he was a little shy of being on camera, a fair point, but actually attendees are not shown on screen and can ask questions and chat by typing, so you’re not going to be in the spotlight!

To keep up to date with these webinars and the Back to School month on the website, make sure you’re signed up to receive the free newsletter, just complete the form at: www.allaboutstamps.co.uk/ account/register and you’ll start receiving the handy emails.
