Getting excited about Stampex in September? The Philatelic Traders’ Society has released details of this year’s event (28 Septmber to 1 October), which is sponsored by Spink and set to be bigger and with more stands than last year’s, so you can plan your visit and make the most of what the event has to offer.

More than 80 PTS members will be talking part in Stampex 2022, with dealers, auction houses and businesses including Spink, Royal Mail, Stanley Gibbons, Michael Chipperfie­ld, Glasgow Stamp Shop, BB Stamos, Doreen Royan, Philasearc­h, Laser Invest, Colonial Stamp Companyand many more. At the new ‘Table Top’ zone at the top of the mezzazine floor, Stampex visitors will be able to meet exhibitors they’ve only previously seen on the gallery bays, including GB Naval Stamps & Covers, Benstamps, Philangles, Thames Themes, Stephen T. Taylor, John Curtin Stamps, Ian Perry Stamps and Thematix. The Ebay auditorium will host the daily Stampex Talks, with the full schedule to be released at the end of August.

Heads collection, which is the Court of Honour, and a special celebratio­n to mark World Postcard Day on 1 October, with a dedicated postcard and a Postcrossi­ng Meetup.

The lead theme of the ABPS competitiv­e exhbitions will be ‘Africa’, showcasing more than 250 faces of national exhibition level. Visit www. abps.org.uk for more informatio­n.

On Bill Barrell’s stand 69, line engraved experts Mike Williams and Graham Stockdale will plate visitors’ 1d blacks and reds free of charge – and if you’ve got an oxidised GB line-engraved stamps they’ll reverse the chemical reaction for you!

Other eye-catching events on teh programme are an #extremephi­lately interactiv­e display, the chance to meet members of the Global Philatelic Network, a Society Day and a Youth Zone , with a kid’s auction on 1 October.

Early bird entry to Stampex 2022 is £10, with free entry on Thursday and Saturday.
