The 56p se-tenant stamps relate to visits The Queen made to Guernsey in 1978, where she and Price Philip visited St Peter’s village, and 2001, where Her Majesty, on her fourth visit to Guernsey, opened the 201 Squadron Museum at Castle Cornet.

The 87p se-tenant stamps show images of The Queen in 1957, when she and Price Philip visited Guernsey and were presented with gifts for Prince Charles and Princess Anne at Cambridge Park, and in 2005 on her final visit, when she visited the island to unveil a commemorative stone to mark 60 years of liberation.

The miniature sheet includes a portrait of The Queen taken at Holyrood House when she attended the Ceremony of the Keys on 27 June 2022.

‘On her first visit to the Channel Islands in 1949, whilst still a Princess, Elizabeth, accompanied by her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, arrived in Alderney,’ said Bridget Yabsley, head of philatelic at Guernsey Post. ‘She promised to revisit in the years that followed and over the decades Her Majesty returned to the Bailiwick a further five times. We are honoured to celebrate the incredible life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with our commemorative stamps,’

The stamps will be issues on 6 February, marking 71 years since Queen Elizabeth’s accession to the throne. They’re available for preorder from 23 January from www.guernseystamps.com.
