Coun­cil­lors help to clean up area

CHER­RY­WOOD ward coun­cil­lors were out in force on Sun­day to clean and pick up lit­ter in Caswell Close, Farn­bor­ough.

Coun­cil­lors Barry Jones, Clive Grat­tan and Les Tay­lor went out with three other vol­un­teers and in two hours col­lected up 14 bags of lit­ter and two fly- tipped items for dis­posal by Rush­moor Bor­ough Coun­cil.

The group also lo­cated two fly- tipped doors, a ra­di­a­tor and sev­eral ve­hi­cle wheels for later col­lec­tion and dis­posal.

Coun­cil­lor Grat­tan said: “This is just one of the things the lo­cal Labour party is do­ing, help­ing to keep a bet­ter and cleaner place for our res­i­dents.

“Just by putting one piece of lit­ter in a bin each day can help keep our area clean for all.”
