DIDCOT DOUBLES PLATFORM LENGTH TO ACCOMMODATE ‘SCOTSMAN’

Didcot Railway Centre is also making changes to its infrastructure in order to host Flying Scotsman over the bank holiday weekend of August 26-28. To cope with the expected passenger numbers, the prefabricated concrete platform on the main demonstration line - a genuine GWR structure, recovered from Eynsham on the Fairford branch - will be doubled in length to take four coaches instead of the usual two.
