resident steam for penrhyn

The Penrhyn Quarry Railway started operations with its own resident steam locomotive on May 29, after supporter Barry Fitzpatrick bought John Sutton’s 0-4-0VBTT Fernilee on May 23 and placed it at the railway’s disposal. Fernilee was built in 2015 and visited the PQR in June 2016. It recently participated in the Ffestiniog Railway’s ‘Quirks & Curiosities II’ event. The PQR is restoring the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum Trust’s Manning Wardle 0-4-0ST Jubilee 1897 for its own use.
