ENGLAND AND CHINESE ENGINES BACK ON THEIR WHEELS IN WALES

Two very different locomotives under restoration have been re-wheeled at the Ffestiniog Railway’s Boston Lodge works. England 0-4-0STT Welsh Pony’s wheelsets have been reunited with its new frames, while construction of its new boiler and tender are well in hand. The Chinese ‘C2’ 0-8-0 No. 4, imported by a group of Ffestiniog members, has become a 2ft gauge machine for the first time, when its frames were placed on its wheelsets. To celebrate the achievement, the wheeled frames were pushed along a siding near the restoration shed. Work has started on restoring the tender.
