The 4.3-acre Salisbury shed site is about to be put on the market for redevelopment. Its current owner is Wiltshire Council, which inherited it from Salisbury District Council after it was acquired from the British Railways Board. “We are aware of the pollution issues regarding the site. We have carried out a number of test borings, but I don’t think looking for buried metal was on our check list,” said a Wiltshire planning spokesman.
