TRAVELS OF A TENDER

-

Collett 4,000-gallon tender No. 2771 has been coupled to two ‘Modified Halls’ in just over a fortnight, as their Barry restorations near completion. It belongs to No. 6984 Owsden Hall, which made a rare outdoor appearance at Hayes Knoll shed on the Swindon & Cricklade Railway on February 21. The tender arrived at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre seven days later, and on March 8 was coupled to No. 6989 Wightwick Hall, to which it is on loan. Although this Hawksworth 4-6-0’s restoration is at an advanced stage, its own Collett 4,000-gallon tender will not be ready for its initial runs as a new tank is still under construction.
