Net­work Rail Chair­man Sir Peter Hendy has been in­vited to reded­i­cate dou­ble-chim­ney ‘Ju­bilee’ Ba­hamas on July 27. The cer­e­mony is planned to take place at the Ba­hamas Lo­co­mo­tive Society’s In­grow base on the Keigh­ley & Worth Val­ley Rail­way. The LMS 4-6-0 is cur­rently be­ing re­assem­bled at Ty­se­ley Lo­co­mo­tive Works as its Her­itage Lottery Fund-backed over­haul nears com­ple­tion. The BLS hopes that No. 45596 will be ready by early July for main line trial runs be­fore re­turn­ing to York­shire. BLS Chair­man Keith Whit­more in­di­cated to Steam Rail­way that a static ap­pear­ance at Ty­se­ley’s June 30/July 1 open week­end was also pos­si­ble, if not in light steam. He said that Vin­tage Trains Ltd’s chair­man Adrian Shooter will reded­i­cate the lo­co­mo­tive’s Mk 2 sup­port coach dur­ing the event.
