Strat­ford driv­ers found the ‘Brits’ a bit draughty in win­ter and their rem­edy was to ram a head­code disc be­tween the back frame of their seat and the leather up­hol­stery. It worked, but only on a disc board rail­way such as the GE - and the South­ern, if they had thought of it!
