As an added extra, you can watch some amazing archive film, featuring subjects from the pages of Steam Railway.

To commemorate the return to steam of ‘Jubilee’ No. 45596 Bahamas, we see a number of Stanier’s ‘5XP’ 4-6-0s in action in the North West during the 1960s.

We head north of the border for the next series of clips, featuring ex-Caledonian Railway 0-4-4Ts at work in the late 1950s, performing the light work for which they were designed.

Finally, we see ‘Claud Hamiltons’ at home in East Anglia. None were preserved, but one is the subject of a new-build project.
