‘DOUBLE DONATIONS DASH’ FOR BLUEBELL’S CARRIAGE SHED

-

In the latest phase of its ‘Operation Undercover’ project, the Bluebell Railway aims to raise £250,000 for its Horsted Keynes carriage shed.

Dubbed the ‘Wall to Wall’ appeal, it will fund the cladding of the external walls (the steel frame having been erected – see also SR475) and fitting-out of the Heritage Skills Centre.

A benefactor is providing match-funding for donations up to £100,000 received by midnight on November 30. Donations can be sent to ‘Cash for Cover Double Donations Dash’, Bluebell Railway Trust, Sheffield Park Station, East Sussex TN22 3QL or made online at https://mydonate. bt.com/events/op4/453366

●● Another major Bluebell undertaking came to fruition on October 19 when the ‘Accessible Steam Heritage’ locomotive exhibition at Sheffield Park shed was officially opened by Andrew Blessley, South East Committee Member for the Heritage Lottery Fund, which supported the project with a £1.1m grant.
