‘Bongo’ is back on the beat

‘B1’ No. 61306 ‘Mayflower’ could return to main line passenger work in December, as part of Steam Dreams’ pre-Christmas season. The 1948-built Thompson 4-6-0 was due to undertake lightengine trials from Carnforth in the last week of November, with a loaded trial slated for early the following month.

Owned by Steam Dreams Rail Co. Chairman David Buck, the ‘B1’ is to return in BR Apple green, the same livery it carried before being retired for overhaul.
