‘SAINT’ TO BE LAUNCHED IN APRIL

GWR ‘Saint’ No. 2999 Lady of Legend has an official launch event pencilled in for the weekend of April 5-7 at Didcot Railway Centre.

The Great Western Society aims to turn out the replica Churchward 4-6-0 in full Edwardian-era GWR lined green livery for what would be its first public appearance in steam.

Steam Railway readers who contributed £200 or more to our appeal for the project will be invited to a VIP event with the locomotive, provisionally scheduled for the week prior to the launch.

The ‘Saint’ is also due to be in steam alongside ‘King’ No. 6023 King Edward II at the former 81E shed during the Easter weekend, April 19-22.
