• FIRE AT STRATHSPEY RAILWAY

A permanent way department workshop at the Strathspey Railway in Scotland was all but destroyed by fire on July 14. The blaze near the line’s Boat of Garten terminus forced nearby properties and the golf club to be evacuated. Fire services were alerted to the fire at around 1.45pm, and five appliances were in attendance. All services were halted, although no one is understood to have been injured.
