P7 get first taste of big school

P7 induction The induction days for P7 pupils will take place on June 17, 18 and 19. On Wednesday the pupils will arrive at 8.45am and will be welcomed to the school by headteache­r Mrs Scullion. Following this they will be introduced to their form teachers and will get the chance to experience some of the subjects that they will be taking in their first year. The following day the school’s uniform suppliers will be in school to measure pupils for their uniform. Pupils will be given an order form with details. New parents are welcome to the school on the Friday afternoon to meet the senior staff and discuss the transition from primary to secondary school. The meeting will be held in the assembly hall at 1.30pm. The afternoon should end just before 2.50pm. Activities Day The school thanked all staff and pupils who took part on May 29. Feedback from staff on the trips was excellent and everyone appears to have had a fantastic day. Junior prizegivin­g This takes place on Tuesday, June 16, in the assem- bly hall. Prizewinne­rs will be announced on the bulletin board in the hub and will be allocated two tickets each. Parents/ guardians should be seated by 7.15pm. The guest of honour is former puupil Kieron Achara, a profession­al basketball player who plays for Great Britain team and competed at the London 2012 Olympics. Water polo Pupils attended their first competitio­n last Friday and were fifth overall. EMA applicatio­ns S4-6 pupils who are 16 or over can now apply for EMA allowance for next session. End of term The last day of term is Friday, June 26. The new term begins for staff on Monday, August 17, with pupils returning the following day. Lockers All pupils need to empty their lockers before the end of term. There will be no access to the school for any pupil during the summer holidays due to essential maintenanc­e works being carried out. If lockers are not emptied they will not be cleaned. Lost property All lost property will be disposed of during the first week of the summer holidays.
