Woman who had heroin hidden in her bra said she was ‘holding it for her partner’

-

A woman who hid a bag of heroin in her bra appeared before Stirling Sheriff court this week.

Stacey Lee Millar, 34, whose address was given as Cornton Vale Prison, admitted possession of diamorphine with intent to supply, at Sunnybank Road on February 4.

The court heard that she had been holding the drugs for her partner, from whom she had split since her arrest.

Fiscal Depute Ann Orr told the court that police had carried out a search warrant at Millar’s home on the date of the offence.

Millar and her partner were in the property, and a search discovered a bag of brown powder in her bra. She told officers: “That’s his supply for the day. You won’t find anything else.”

When her former partner told officers he believed she had hidden another quantity of the drug internally, Millar was questionned.

“She said she had, but that she’d disposed of it in a police cell toilet earlier in the day, ”said Mrs Orr.

The 1.8 gram bag recovered from her bra was valued at £180.

Defence solicitor Ken Dalling said: “This was simply drug sharing between Miss Millar and her former partner. Miss Millar remains in treatment and is on a daily dose of methadone.”

Sheriff Charles McFarlane told her: “You are now 34 and you have a record. There are previous convictions for the type of offence that brings you before the court today. I can’t see any alternative to a custodial sentence.”

He sent her to prison for nine months, backdated to February 5.
