Daredevil Stuart in a para charity

-

A Dunblane- based businessman is planning a 15,000 foot charity parachute jump in America as part of his company’s support of Macmillan Cancer Care.

Stuart Evans, director of Fusion Meetings and Events, is making the jump in Long Island later in the summer with two of his long standing clients from International Student Exchange, who have have had a number of European events organised for them by Fusion.

Fusion Meetings and Events, based at Old Churches House in Dunblane, and its parent company Fusion Group, have already raised £2000 for Macmillan, following a charity fifth birthday party, held in Edinburgh last September.

As well as Stuart’s charity jump, which has already raised almost £ 1000 for the charity through his JustGiving page at www.justgiving. com/stuartevans09122013, Fusion plan additional fund raising events this year.

“Cancer affects us all and it’s likely one in two of us will be personally affected at some point in our lives. This is a very scary thought and a very scary statistic,” said Stuart. “After losing my mother to lung cancer in December 2013 I decided I should do what I can to support the charity. Macmillan’s support is invaluable to cancer patients and their families during this stressful and upsetting time.

“My impending parachute jump in the States is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I am feeling a mixture of trepidation and excitement. I am actually on holiday with my family at the time so they will be there to support me, although my wife has decided not to join me in actually doing a jump herself!”
