Summer fun at Macrobert

-

With the summer holidays just around the corner, Macrobert Arts Centre has a diverse programme of activities for children, young people and adults to keep all ages entertained during the school break.

Starting at the end of the month, not only are there some big blockbusters in the cinema such as Minions, there is also a range of creative classes in drama, dance, film, art and music, with even some outside storytelling – weather permitting of course.

For young people there are numerous ways to create, explore and get involved. A Show in a Week (Monday July 20 to Friday July 24), is Macrobert’s very own Summer School which allows secondary year pupils to devise, rehearse and put on a performance to be proud of, and the opportunity to work with a director and their technical team. Macrobert is also joining forces with the University of Stirling’s Sports Centre to offer another course (Tuesday July 23 to Thursday July 25) which is themed around their Hosts and Champions: Scotland in the Commonwealth Games exhibition.

Particpants will spend a half day each at the Gannochy Sports Centre trying out a range of sports and the other half at Macrobert, exploring art through sport.

And on every Wednesday in July, pre-school children and their grown-ups can enjoy a variety of different workshops from dance, art, music and even story walks throughout the university campus.

For further information about all of the upcoming summer opportunities and events or to book a place, visit the Macrobert Arts Centre website or call the box office on 01786 466666.
