KIDS DAY OUT
Fun for all at Bridgehaugh
More than 500 children with additional needs and their 270 carers enjoyed the annual Carse of Stirling Rotary Club Kids Day Out at Bridgehaugh last week.
Glorious sunshine welcomed the visitors to Stirling County Rugby Club’s grounds as the Rotarians celebrated the 20th anniversary of the event.
Thirty schools from Stirling, Clackmannan and Falkirk were represented and the participants enjoyed a day of free food, drink, ice cream, bouncy castles, slides and many other activities.
Club president Bobby Broadfoot showed various dignatories around during the day including Stirling Provost Mike Robbins, Alloa Rotary Club president Hector Nicolson and Mark Wallace from Callander Rotary Club.
Kids Day Out convener Eddie Cramb said:“I would like to thank those who helped out on the day including members of Stirling Soroptimists Club, staff of HSBC in Port Street, senior pupils from Bannockburn and St Modan’s High Schools and of course members, wives and friends of the Rotary Club of Carse of Stirling.
“Thanks must also go to Ashers Ice Cream who handed out about 900 free ice creams and also to Stirling County Rugby Club, Michael More (Butchers),W Morrisons plc, Police Scotland, Sandy of Garden Trains, Chris from Callander Toy Museum and Ally Munn.
“We would also like to thank the support from Stirling Council and the following companies who gave monetry support in order to make the event possible - Sterling Furniture, Thornbridge Sawmills, Ogilvie Group, James Callander and Sons, Peter and WE Cramb, Superglass and Prudential.”
He added:“We hope for more of the same for next years event.”
