Cycle Hub have wheely put in the effort

-

Keen cyclists have so far racked up an estimated 2000 kilometres this month as part of a Stirling Cycle Hub initiative.

Through Spring into the Saddle the hub are encouraging riders to get on their bike for every day in April.

A total of 47 people have saddled up and taken part in the event since it got underway at the start of the month.

Riders are encouraged to update the hub on their progress and send in snaps of them out on their daily ride in a bid to help encourage others.

Susanne Mueller is a cycle officer at the hub and she insists she is delighted with the outpouring of pedal power.

She said:“We are very impressed with the effort people are making – especially with some of the bad weather we had at the start of the challenge.

“People update us by tweeting images of themselves going out on rides, while Instagram and Facebook are also used by those taking part.”

She added:“It has been great fun to read the updates and see how many people have made the effort to go out, even if just for a short distance.

“We are half way through and we estimate that the riders have completed more than 2000 kilometres.”

Stirling Cycle Hub are open seven days each week at their base at Stirling Train Station.
