Alva Games Bingo Tea The next bingo tea in support of the 160th Alva Games will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm in St John Vianney Church Hall. Alva Pensioners The monthly dance is on Saturday, April 30 with music by Raymond Carse. Age Concern Whist and dominoes are tomorrow (Thursday) at 2pm in Alva Parish Church Hall. Alva Toddler Group Meets on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9.30-11.30am in the Cochrane Hall and also runs through school holidays. Details on Facebook – Alva Toddlers. Darby and Joan The club meets on Wednesdays at 1.45pm in the Cochrane Foundation Hall. Knitting Group Meets at Parklands Centre at 7.30pm on the first and third Monday of the month for a friendly evening in the company of experience­d machine and hand knitters. Carpet Bowls Carpet bowlers are wanted at Alva Parklands on Mondays and Fridays at 1.45-3.15pm. Alva Baptist Church A craft club will be held on Thursdays from 10am to noon. Card making materials are supplied or you can bring your own work (e.g. knitting, cross stitch) and enjoy the company. Community Notice Board The board is outside the CAP/library. Miners Welfare Social Club Bingo every Monday and Wednesday at 8pm. Ladywell Church Service on Sunday at 11.15am will be conducted by the minister Rev Liz Robertson. Sunday school is held during the service. Team One will be on duty. After the service there will be a meeting lasting approximat­ely one-two hours for all office bearers taking part in the congregati­onal visitation. A full attendance is requested. Please bring a packed lunch. Tomorrow (Thursday), the coffee morning is from 10am till noon and the craft club meets at 7.30pm. Allan Church The service on Sunday is at 11.15am and will be led by Rev Jim Cochrane. Sunday school continues to meet during the service and a creche is available. Prayer group meets at 10.45am in the small hall every Sunday and all are welcome. Tuesday coffee club is weekly from 10-11.30am. Welcome team on Sunday is Team 6 and consists of A Young, R Miller, J Russell, M Miller and J McIntyre. Masonic Bannockbur­n Bruce and Thistle 312 meets on Friday (April 29) at 7.30pm for a Mark Degree. All visitors welcome.

Lunch Club The lunch club meets on Wednesdays in the Crawford Hall, Colquhoun Street from 1-3pm and the older members of the community are invited. They will be welcome to come on their own or with a friend or carer. Bingo East Argyll Centre in Colquhoun Street has bingo every Tuesday and Thursday, eyes down 7.30pm. Community Garden Applicatio­ns for membership are currently being taken. If you’re interested in growing your own fruit and vegetables in your own raised bed in the garden and in the polytunnel, contact garden@ braehead.org. Instructio­n available for beginners.

Bridge of Allan

Bridge of Allan Parish Church Sunday worship takes place 11am and will be conducted by Rev Dan Harper. Sunday school meets at the usual time and there will be a creche. Coffee fellowship is in the Chalmers Hall afterwards. Beadle duty: Christine Paterson. Door duty: Louise Kentley, Lynda Stuart, Glen Montgomery. The social team is holding a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the Chalmers Hall on Saturday, April 30. Tickets, £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, are on sale at the door. The next meeting of the book group will be on Tuesday, May 17. The group is reading “The Light Between The Oceans” by ML Stedman. Past, present and new members welcome. Bowling Club Junior opening day is Sunday, May 1. Bruce Memorial Church Sunday’s service will be led by Josh Milton, Community and Families Worker, who will preach from Daniel 10. There will be a short informal communion service afterwords. Sunday school will meet as usual. The first Sunday of the month brings the opportunit­y to donate to Start-Up Stirling food bank. Baby and toddler group Every Tuesday and Thursday at Stirling County Rugby Club from 10-11.30am. Cost £2 for the first child and 50p for additional children. Cost includes snack for children and tea/coffee for the adults. Logie Kirk Sunday service in the kirk is at 11am. A further service will be held in Hanover Court at 3pm. Credit Union Cornton Credit Union now goes under the name of Cornton and District Credit Union and will now be able to serve the Raploch community as well as Cornton. Skate park On Saturday, April 30 the official skate park opening is from 2-4pm. Join CRAG in celebratin­g the skate park and have some fun for all the family, bouncy castle, burgers, and music. CRAG Join members for planting in the Village Square on Monday, May 2 at 11am. One O’Clock Club Lunch club for all in the miners welfare every Monday at 1pm. Bowling club On Sunday, May 1, Brian Cattigan will be performing in the lounge bar from 3pm. On Saturday, May 7, Terry Moore will be singing in the main hall when a bus party from Motherwell Miners visits the club for sing-song and dancing from 9pm to 1am.
