Angel Anne’s helping hand

Support after loss of a child

- Staff reporter

Grandmother Anne Smith knows only too well how the loss of a young child to a family can be devastating.

Her baby grandson Harry passed away six years ago, while his twin Charlie survived.

But “Angel Anne” is using the insight of her own life experiences combined with her role as a psychic medium, to hopefully make a difference to individuals and even to charities.

Anne, from Glasgow, will be appearing at the Albert Halls in Stirling on May 6 at 7.30pm, along with special guest, international medium Karen McCagh, as part of her Anne’s “A Wish in the Heart” tour.

The tour is in aid of the Make A Wish Foundation children’s charity which grants magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

And Anne will also be handing out free copies of her book to those who come along with a copy of this article in return for a donation to the charity.

Anne, who left her senior job at Greggs bakers to start her career as a psychic several years ago, said: “I am always honoured to work for spirit and raise awareness for charities that are close to my heart, and I’m really excited to have Karen joining me at Stirling.”

Anne, who says she saw her first spirit after her younger sister passed away when they were children, believes anyone can connect with the spirit world if they open their minds to it.

“I always believed in the spirit world and can communicate but even after all these years I still had questions.”

A “mindblowing” experience where she held Harry’s twin Charlie in her arms at her home - only to realise he wasn’t staying with her that night - blew away any remaining questions she may have had.

“I have no doubts now. It’s real. I have written a book to help people to connect to the spirit world because I believe while it’s good to get a message from a medium it is better to get it yourself. We all have a sixth sense and psychic ability and most people will have had experiences of things they can’t otherwise explain.”

She admits, however, that her gift is not always a happy one and that she has seen things about her family for the future that she would rather not be aware of,

In general, however, she says it brings hope and that even the worst things that can happen are often blessings in disguise. She says it helps to know that she will see Harry again one day.

“I can understand that people need proof. It can often be a simple thing.”

On the morning of any show Anne lets the spirit world know where she is going and “build up that energy” in order to connect with that area.

“A lot of work goes into the pre-show and the show itself and the spirit world takes my direction. During the shows I focus in on people whom I can see brighter than anyone else in the audience. Nine out of 10 times people understand the message I give but if they don’t I don’t change it as that’s what I am being told to pass on and it may mean something to them later.”

Tickets price £18.50 (£15) are available by calling the Albert Halls on 01786 473544.
