May Bull sales listing
United Auctions are ready to welcome visitors and farming community to the May Bull Sales.
A record number of entries is listed for the sales on Sunday and Monday (May 1 and 2).
In a first for the Bull Sales, the livestock auctioneers will also host the official show and sale of Highland cattle as part of the national event at Stirling Agricultural Centre.
John Roberts, sales director and auctioneer at UA said: “No less than 132 of the UK’s leading herds have consignments forward. We anticipate a comprehensive show of excellent bulls with genetics that will have wide appeal.”
The judges include: Highland - Jim McMillan, Craigmore, Farnell, Brechin; Charolais - Wallace Brown, Barrance, Newton Mearns; Simmental - Daffyd Jones, Maesllymystyn, Foel, Welshpool; Limousin - Kevin Bates, 1 The Whinney, Rosley, Wigton; Aberdeen-Angus - Ken Howie, Cairnton, Lumphannan, Banchory; and Beef Shorthorn - Geoff Riby, Low Stonehills, Fraisthorpe, Bridlington.
SALE PROGRAMME: Saturday, April 30 - 7am yard opens; Sunday, May 1 - 9.45am Charolais inspection, 11am Simmental inspection, 12.30pm Limousin inspection, 1pm show of Charolais bulls, 1.30pm AberdeenAngus inspection, 2.15pm Beef Shorthorn inspection followed by Salers and British Blue, 2.30pm Show of Simmental bulls, 4pm Show of Highland cattle; Monday, May 2 - 8.45am Parade of Salers and British Blue bulls, 9am Show of Limousin bulls, 10am Show of Aberdeen-Angus bulls followed by Shorthorn bulls, 10.45am Sale of Highland bulls, 11.15am Sale of Salers (7) and British Blue bulls (1), 11.30am Sale of Charolais (64), Simmental (65 and 1 female), Limousin (58 and 3 females), Aberdeen-Angus (34) and Beef Shorthorn (17 and 8 females).
