Thrills man faces court

Caught by two schoolgirls

- Court reporter

A man - who was caught by two schoolgirls in his car with his trousers down - told police he was doing it for “thrills”.

David Dale was seen by the same 12-year-olds on consecutive days, and was traced and arrested after one of the quick-thinking youngsters snapped his silver estate car with her mobile phone.

Bushy-bearded Dale, 30, who lives in Cumbria, had been in Stirling visiting his family.

He told police he indulged in a practice for which the thrill was being caught masturbating in public.

The depute fiscal handed victim statements to Falkirk Sheriff Court detailing the impact of Dale’s actions on the young girls.

He said both incidents occurred around 3pm as the girls were walking along Polmaise Road .

They had been making their way from the city centre.

Graham McLachlan said: “The car was parked and one of the girls looked in the window and saw the accused sitting in the driver’s seat.

“His trousers were at his knees and his top was up round his chest.

“And she said that he ‘seemed to be doing something rude with his private parts’.”

The following day, the girls saw Dale drive slowly by “doing that rude thing with his hand”.

Dale, of Dearham, Cumbria, pleaded guilty to two charges of public indecency between December 27 and 28 last year.

Sheriff John Mundy deferred sentence until next month and placed Dale on the sex offenders’ register.

He said: “It’s obvious I’m going to need a background report.”
