Online rant left bad taste in my mouth

-

Dear Editor, I hope the couple who wrote a damning review of Vecchia Bologna in Bridge of Allan are hanging their heads in shame following your article last week.

Having read the responses from the Menichetti family, I’m exasperated anyone would expect to pay £15 for three courses in a decent restaurant in the first place.

The fact they were offered a £17.50 option for three courses shows how accommodating the Bologna staff were being to a pair of numpties who couldn’t read the website properly.

The restaurant would hardly be making any profit out of that.

Online warriors are wielding far too much power on social media and sites like Trip Advisor these days. Or they think they are.

How would they feel if their living was threatened by those with a petty axe to grind against the firm that pays their wages?

If it were up to me, these people would be open to legal action and made more accountable for the rubbish they publish online. Trip Advisor needs to become more transparent. The site is open to abuse - as has been demonstrated by this unscrupulous pair who think if they complain enough they’ll get themselves a free lunch.

Shame on them - and well done to the Menichetti family for refusing to be bullied.
