Holly earns a top Rabbie reward
Dunblane High School pupil Holly Jarvis was given the top honour of Young Burnsian at the Robert Burns World Federation Secondary School National Championships recently.
The event was held in St George’s School for Girls in Edinburgh and young people from across the country competed in three disciplines - recitation, singing and instrumental.
Prizes were awarded in three age categories - S1-2, S3-4 and S5-6. As well as Young Burnsian, Holly was judged the overall best pupil for singing after winning the S3/4 section.
Also representing Stirling, Perth and Clackmannanshire, was fellow Dunblane High School pupil Ellen Pennie who won the S5-6 verse speaking category (recitation) category, and Jacob Robertson was third in the S1-2 instrumental section.
Holly was presented with her trophy by RBWF Junior Vice President Iain McIntyre and Past President Jim Thompson, who both also presented Ellen with her prize.
