REBECCA BELL, SCOTTISH LABOUR

-

Rebecca Bell (37) was born in Telford in England and has lived in Stirling’s Riverside for ten years.

The first of her family to go to university, Rebecca is a UNISON member and works as a sustainability officer at Clackmannanshire Council. She has also worked in the construction industry.

She said she knows first-hand the difficult decisions being made by councils because of SNP and Tory austerity.

Why vote Labour?

Faced with the choice between using the powers of the Scottish Parliament or making more cuts to schools and public services, Labour chooses to use the powers.

Tomorrow (Thursday) you can help protect our communities and save our local services by using both votes for Labour.

Scottish Labour is the only party offering an alternative to Tory austerity and the only party that would invest in Scotland’s future instead of continuing the SNP cuts.

Labour believes in making choices that mean that children from disadvantaged backgrounds have the same opportunities as their classmates from wealthier families.

We will ask those earning over £150,000 to pay a little more for new investment in schools.

We also propose to tackle the housing crisis, helping young people with their mortgage deposits and building more council houses.

And we intend to ban fracking, unlike the SNP who are keeping the door open for drilling.

We will increase spending on the NHS to ensure better, faster treatment for patients.

And we will scrap the unfair Council Tax and replace it with a fairer system based on property value.

We also intend to make it easier and cheaper to get to work with a single ticket that can be used on all modes of public transport.

If you remember just one thing on Thursday, remember that Labour have a track record of delivering on our promises, a realistic plan to deal with the problems of today and a vision of a future with equality and social justice for all.

This Thursday, use both your votes for Scottish Labour.
