Mark’s appeal on regional vote
Scottish Greens lead candidate and Stirling Councillor Mark Ruskell has appealed for voters to use their regional vote to elect him back to Holyrood tomorrow (Thursday).
The former Green MSP who is standing again for Holyrood is urging Stirling voters to deliver a strong Green group of MSPs to create a bolder Scottish Parliament for the next five years.
Just over six per cent of the regional vote would elect Councillor Ruskell as Green MSP for the Mid-Scotland and Fife Region.
He said:“Whichever party voters choose with their constituency vote this Thursday, I hope they will use their regional vote for a greener, bolder Holyrood that can hold the next Scottish Government to account. I’m ready to hit the ground running at Holyrood on local issues effecting our communities.
“From fighting cuts to frontline services to ensuring school-leavers have guaranteed places in education, training and work to delivering greater powers for communities to protect their environment, I’m ready to be a strong champion for Stirling.
“My track record as a councillor shows that I’m not afraid to take on powerful interests that threaten our quality of life and I’ll bring that approach and experience to my work as an MSP at Holyrood.
“l’ll work constructively with other MSPs to represent the best interests of local people but won’t hold back in challenging the Scottish Government where it falls short.”
