Win a family pass to see the wonders of Blair Drummond

- Donna White

With the new season well underway, we are giving away a family pass to Blair Drummond Safari Park every week.

We will tell you a little bit about an animal in the popular zoo park, and ask you a question about it.

The slender-tailed meerkat is perhaps one of the most adorable creatures at the park, where 11 currently reside.

Groups can reach numbers of 50 in the wild.

They live in arid desert environments and adapt to these surroundings in a number of ways.

For example, the black rings around their eyes act as sunglasses, allowing them to look for birds of prey flying high above.

To win a family pass to Blair Drummond Safari Park worth more than £50 simply correctly answer the following question:

How many meerkats does Blair Drummond Safari Park currently have?

Send your answer, along with your name, address and telephone number to Blair Drummond Competition, The Stirling Observer, 34 Upper Craigs, Stirling FK8 2DW.

Entries must be in by Monday.

A winner will be chosen at random and announced in next week’s paper.

Meanwhile, congratulations to Mrs I Parker, of Doig Street,Thornhill, who correctly answered last week’s question that Père David - the missionary who gave his name to the Père David’s deer - came from France.

A family pass to Blair Drummond is on its way to you.
