There are few athletes who can say they have been selected for their country at three Olympic Games.

And Robbie Renwick now finds himself heading to Rio as the veteran of the squad, having appeared in Beijing and London.

“I am the oldest in the squad at 27 and that does feel a bit strange,” he said.

He added: “I was definitely expecting it and would have been gutted if I didn’t get in.

“It is my third Olympic Games, most probably my last, but it is a great honour to have been selected to represent Team GB again.”

Robbie joined the Stirling team almost two years ago and feels that it has had a great effect on his training.

He said: “I always trained in Stirling, even when I was based in Glasgow.

“The facilities and standard here are just amazing, there is nowhere else like it.”

Craig is looking forward to the Games, having had an great time in London, and added: “It’s going to be amazing. London was probably the best experience of my life, and to be coaches here are not much older than me, indeed I used to live with Ben (Higson) a few years ago. selected again is a dream come true.

“This time it has been down to many years of hard work and I can’t wait to get out there and swim against the best in the world.”

“We are all friends and we all want the same thing, and that definitely helps when you are training.”
