Talented dancers will be putting on an anniversary show next month.
An audience at the Macrobert will enjoy the opportunity of seeing the dance stars of the future demonstrating their artistic talents in Ballet West’s 25th Anniversary Showcase performances by 70 Degree and HND students.
The Anniversary Showcase takes place on June 4, with shows at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
A highlight of the programmes will be a new work, Esercicy, choreographed to Carl Czerny and especially created for Ballet West’s students by the award-winning Belgian choreographer, Daniel Job.
There is also new work by Martin Fenton and three pieces by Indra Reinholde, whose work has previously been performed in Russia’s famous Mariinsky Theatre, St Petersburg.
Ballet West graduate, Natasha Watson created five pieces prior to Genée finalist and first year student from Japan, Uyu Hiromoto, will dance the Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, with second year student, Oscar Ward.
The show case is the culmination of the year’s work for both the HND and BA (Hons) students, and is the final assessment for the degree students before graduation, and moving on to the professional stage. Gillian Barton explained: “This is a wonderful opportunity for fans in Stirling to see our very talented young performers as they are about to move on to their professional careers.
“For the 70 students, Ballet West’s Showcase provides invaluable experience of live performance in a theatre setting.”
The company has performed several times before at the arts centre, and tickets can be bought from macrobertartscentre. org
