Champions bounce back against Bearsden

-

Doune recovered from the loss of an early goal to record another convincing league win on Saturday.

Having clinched the title, Doune were surprised when Bearsden snatched the lead after five minutes with a disputed goal.

Home forward Lawrence looked offside as he latched on to a long ball.

But the referee allowed play to continue and Lawrence rounded Steven Fotheringham to slot the ball into the empty net.

It took until 34 minutes for Doune to equalise.

Chris Ogilvie drove past the full back before curling an inch-perfect pass into the middle of the area where the in-rushing Lukasz Duszynski met the ball first time to rifle an unstoppable volley high into the roof of the net.

Two minutes after the restart, Alan More almost gave Doune the lead - the beginning of almost incessant Castle pressure.

Bearsden held out until the 78th minute.

Sean Heaver sped down the left flank, leaving two defenders trailing in his wake and his cross found Ogilvie who brought the ball under control before lashing it home. The clinching goal came with the clock showing 90 minutes.

Colin Burke won a challenge on the halfway line to head the ball forward to Heaver who cut the ball back for Ogilvie to score.
