Quireboys Rock for Strathcarron

-

Top band the Quireboys are set to play a charity gig in Stirling.

The‘90s rock band will perform an acoustic show at the Tolbooth on December 14, with all profits raised going to Strathcarron Hospice.

The event is being organised by Rock For Strathcarron, a registered not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising funds for the hospice by putting on live music concerts in Stirling.

The night will be extra special for founder Ross Wilson, who set up the group after his father spent his final days at the hospice, as he is a huge fan of the band.

He said:“This is a great coup for Rock For Strathcarron and we hope it will lead to us being able to bring more well-known bands to the local area.

“Personally, The Quireboys are one of my favourite bands, having first seen them live more than 25 years ago, so it’s going to be a huge thrill for me announcing them on stage in my home town.

“They’re always great live and this is going to be a terrific night for the local fans who, I’m sure, will prove that Stirling should be a regular stop on the tour schedule for other popular acts.

“We’re delighted to announce that Harviestoun Brewery will be supporting us by donating all monies from the sales of their beer on the night to the hospice. We want to thank them for their very generous support and hope this will be the start of a very successful relationship.”

A limited number of tickets are available from the box office at the Albert Halls and Europa Music in Friars Street.
