It follows the tradition, introduced byoperators Stirling DistrictTourism in 2007, of allowing people into the monument for no charge on Scotland’s national day.

And as an added bonus, there will be free entry to children between Saturday (November 26) and nextTuesday (November 29) .

Regular live performances linked to the history of the monument are planned on Saturday and Sunday, and on St Andrew’s Day a medievalwarriorwill tell the story ofWilliam Wallace - who he was and how he fought to free the people of Scotland from oppression.

Stirling DistrictTourism spokesman Ken Thomson said: “WilliamWallacewas a man of the people and whilst the Wallace Monument is a great value day out, for some families cost can be a deciding factor.

“We hope that those who have always wanted to experience the attraction will take advantage of this special offer.”

For a free children’s entry, an online voucher, available at www. nationalwallacemonument. com/2016/11/st-andrews- day-2016, must be presented when purchasing tickets and is valid with the purchase of an adult admission.
