Months of rehearsals finally came to fruition for McLaren High School’s pupils who produced three top performanc­es of Les Miserables School Edition last week.

The cast put their all into each evening, both physically and emotionall­y and this helped make it such a memorable show for so many.

The youngsters performed admirably as they brought the famous tale to the Callander school’s stage which was bedecked in a fantastic set designed and constructe­d byBob Johnson and his team and painted by Aileen Green and her team.

Chorus numbers were breathtaki­ng with powerful singing and the costumes and props on loan from the Clanranald Trust, thanks to Malin Heen Allan were terrific.

Main roles were: Valjean (Dillon McFarlane); Javert (Max Menzies); Fantine (Ailish Duthie); Eponine (India Newton); Young Cosette (Flora Duff); Thenardier (Harris Kliskey); Mme Thenardier (Louise Dineley); Cosette (Finn Newton); Gavroche (James Douglas) and Marius (Sean Steele). Other cast and crew: Enjolras (Calum Cameron); Feuilly/ Grantaire (Jason Derrick); The Foreman/Joly (Owen Ferguson); Pimp/ Combeferre (Rowan Campbell); Bamatabois/ Prouvaire (Jack McGuire); Constable - revolution­ary (Eleanor Yates); Bishop (Andrew Murphy); Farmer/ Labourer (Jamie Warburton); Old Woman (Mhairi Stewart).
