A Stirling-based fitness class and personal trainers has been voted Forth Valley’s Favourite Business.

Lou Mac Fitness won an online contest held by Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce as part of their forthcoming annual business awards.

More than 130 organisations entered and thousands of people voted for their favourite.

Lou Mac Fitness, which holds classes in the Bannockburn Masonic Hall and at Blairdrummond, secured an impressive 3412 votes.

And owner Louise MacLaren insists she’s over the moon at the recognition. She said:“We are delighted to have been named Forth Valley’s Favourite Business. Especially as we were nominated by one of our members who has hugely benefitted from the Lou Mac Fitness model.

“The response when we asked for votes and shares on social media was epic and we can’t thank everyone who voted for us enough.”

Stirling Gin came second with 2070 votes. They have also been shortlisted for two other awards at the annual event – Best Start Up Business and Best Micro Business.

In third place was Stirling-based The Wee Kitchen Company – who make handmade jam and chilli preserves – with 1599 votes.

Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce’s fourth annual business awards will take place on Thursday September 21 at Dunblane Hydro.

And Michelle McKearnon, chief executive of Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce, said:“We were all taken by surprise by the success of the online voting for this category.

“Thousands of people took part and the online buzz was amazing. It’s been great to see so many local businesses engaging with us, with their clients and customers, encouraging them to take part.”
