Site aims at luring walkers to Ochils

-

A group of Clackmannanshire businesses are aiming to attract a bigger share of Scotland’s £1.26 billion walking tourism market with a programme of new promotional activity to lure walkers to the Ochils.

New promotional video, walking itineraries and maps have been produced this summer by Discover Clackmannanshire, a partnership of local tourism operators and business groups, supported by Clackmannanshire Council and VisitScotland.

The information for walkers is available at the www. discoverclackmannanshire.com.

Walking in the Ochils is one of the activities that features most prominently in Discover Clackmannanshire’s current £20,000 digital marketing campaign, supported with half of that budget through the VisitScotland Growth Fund.

Discover Clackmannanshire chairman Steven Campbell said: “This year’s digital marketing campaign has allowed us to shout louder about what’s great about Clackmannanshire, particularly our outstanding landscapes and walking country of the Ochils. New research by VisitScotland puts the value of walking tourism nationally at £1.26 billion. Our new video, itineraries, mapping and social media activity gives us a great opportunity to show visitors just how good Clackmannanshire is for walking breaks and to win us a bigger share of the market.”
