TRIBUTES TO QUAD BIKER

New dad Greig was a‘loveable family guy’

- Staff Reporter

Tributes have been paid to a Stirling man who was killed after the quad bike he was driving crashed on a busy motorway.

Greig Hogg (23), who is from the Bannockburn area, died after being involved in a collision on the M8 in Renfrewshire on Saturday afternoon.

It is believed he struck a lamp post after losing control of the SMC quad bike he was driving at junction 29.

Police and ambulance crews attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was reported this week that Mr Hogg had just become a father earlier this year.

And his brother Steven Hogg posted a moving message about the tragedy online.

He wrote: “Can’t believe I’m writing this. It’s so hard and not sunk in yet. A harmless, caring, lovable family guy. He’s meant to be here with me for the rest of my life and he still will be but not in person.

“I’m truly devastated and don’t know how I’ll move on from this. But every single post, text and message means so much and I thank every person that’s took the time to think of me and the family.”

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward — and have asked drivers to check their dash cam footage.

Anyone with information should contact the divisional road policing unit based in Greenock on 101.
