- Staff reporter

Braehead Community Development Trust is holding an drop-in event on Saturday in the Afton Court Playpark to gather more views and ideas for a future revamp of the popular park.

The trust is exploring ways to work in partnership with Stirling Council and other funders to create a space which can be enjoyed by the entire community, both adults and children.

Community trust chairperson and Stirling East councillor Chris Kane said: “I believe every community should have one awesome playpark and its time that Afton Court was given a makeover.

“We’ve been working with community groups, children and local people to find out what people would like to see in the space and this weekend we want to give one more opportunity for everybody to give us their ideas.

“Often being in the space can fire your imagination and that’s what we’re hoping happens on Saturday.”

The drop in event, between noon and 2pm, will be in the Afton Court Park under a pop up gazebo to weather proof the event.

Initial consultations earlier this year developed the idea of “zones”, with organisers hoping at this event people will talk about the sort of equipment they’d like to see in the “play”, “fitness”, “meeting”, “sport” and “nature” zones.

There is also a online survey which can be filled in for those unable to attend.
