Technology hub opens

CodeBase Stirling, the city’s brand new technology incubator hub officially opened its doors this week.

Housed in the former Municipal Buildings in Corn Exchange Road, the flagship technology hub will host its formal launch reception on September 5.

The hub will gather and support the tech community providing scaleup education, office and co-working spaces, mentoring and events programme.

This is the country’s second CodeBase hub, following the successful Edinburgh base, which is home to more than 90 start-ups employing more than 600 people. CodeBase Stirling has the capacity to cluster upwards of 50 start-up and scale-up companies over four floors of flexible office space, as well as hotdesking and co-working facilities.

Stephen Coleman, chief executive and co-founder of CodeBase, said: “We are creating a hub that can drive real growth into the region and country, and believe Stirling can become an integral part of Scotland’s fast-growing tech scene with all the knock-on benefits – not least the potential for hundreds of jobs to be created in the city.”

Stirling Council Leader Councillor Scott Farmer added: “This collaborat­ion with CodeBase further enhances Stirling’s ambitions to become a centre of digital excellence. CodeBase Stirling has the potential to attract new, innovative businesses to the area, create hundreds of jobs and secure investment.”
