Police hunting for crooks who broke into six outbuildings in the Stirling area are following a positive line of enquiry.

Four sheds were targeted outside properties in Northend, Cambusbarron, overnight on Saturday into Sunday – with a bike belonging to Jamie Harron, who this week returned home from Dubai, among the items taken.

A £1500 black and orange Norco mountain bike belonging to Mr Harron was taken – just over 24-hours before he learned a three-month prison sentence imposed for touching a man’s hip in a bar had been overturned.

Charges of public indecency were dropped after the ruler of the Emirate of Dubai stepped in.

Also stolen from one of the sheds was a £50 mountain bike, which is silver in colour.

In addition, would-be thieves targeted a shed and a garage outside properties on Whitehill Place in Kings Park overnight on Wednesday October 18 into Thursday October 19, although nothing was taken.

Police believe the incidents may be linked.

Anyone with information on these incidents, or who knows the identity of those responsible, should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
