Man who sent abusive texts to return to court to learn fate
A St Ninians man who directed a number of abusive and threatening remarks to his ex-girlfriend will return to court next month.
Sean Fergus (23) caused Naomi McCallum fear or alarm by repeatedly sending text messages containing abusive or threatening remarks and uttered threats of violence during a phone call to her.
He also repeatedly left voicemail messages for her in which he acted in an aggressive manner.
The offences took place at Delph Wynd in Tullibody and at Booker Cash and Carry on Stirling’s Whitehouse Road on July 29.
Stirling Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday morning how the previously requested report into his suitability for the Caledonian programme [designed to help tackle domestic abuse] had not been completed due to Fergus, whose address is given as McGrigor Road, missing an appointment.
Sheriff Wyllie Robertson warned him:“You have escaped remand here by the skin of your teeth.
“I’m going to vary your bail order to make it a requirement that you attend the next meeting.
“If you fail to turn up you will have committed an offence.”
Sheriff Robertson added: “This is your last chance. I suggest that you take it.”
Fergus is scheduled to return to court on November 27.
