Prints charming

A print produced by a Dunblane landscape photographer has raised £300 at auction for Strathcarron Hospice.

Award-winning snapper Sean Kerr committed to supporting the charity earlier this year, including donating 20 per cent of the sale of selected prints and offering his time free of charge for photography of the hospice and its grounds.

Recently he auctioned a signed art panel of Luskentyre/Seilebost beaches to raise funds for Strathcarron, raising £300 when it was bought by Gordon McIntosh.

Claire Macdonald, business development fundraiser at the hospice, said: “This generous bid of £300 is actually enough to cover the cost of five sessions of children’s bereavement support here at Strathcarron. Thank you Sean and Gordon.”

Sean’s mother spent the last few weeks of her life in a hospice before she passed away in 2012 and the care she received inspired him to endeavour to help Strathcarron, his local hospice.

A number of Sean’s cards and prints showcasing the beautiful Scottish landscape can be purchased at the hospice, the sale of which will help support terminally ill people and their families throughout Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.
