Amazing to see work of Therapet in action
It was a pleasure to meet the staff, students and ‘Riggs’ the ‘Therapet’ from Bannockburn Primary School at last week’s education committee.
For many years dogs have been used to help with the grief and trauma suffered by service personnel with some amazing results; most notably Endal the dog who not only helped his owner regain his memory after being injured in the Gulf War, but saved his life when he was hit by a car.
It is fantastic to see the benefits of having canine companions in the classroom now. The forward thinking and pioneering approach by Bannockburn Primary is something they should be extremely proud of and I would encourage other schools to follow their lead.
